This artwork was created for a talk of Dr Steve Jackson at the University of Bristol.
The illustration displays strands of DNA that are being edited by restriction enzymes. Human genetic material is exposed to and damaged by exogenous stimuli on a daily basis. These alterations on the genetic level can give rise to a variety of pathologies and diseases. Thus, unraveling the pathways, principles and components involved in DNA repair may hold enormous clinical value, as depicted by genetic material being packaged in tablet form.
