The iconic blue flame the Bunsen Burner produces can reach up to 1200℃.
Bunsen burners are single flame producing, upright gas burning torches. The simplicity and functionality of the bunsen burner has made it easy to manufacture and this has been the reason behind much of its popularity since conception in the early 1800s. The Bunsen Burner has become ubiquitous in labs, found in chemistry labs to heat chemicals and in microbiology labs for sterilising equipment. Letting more oxygen in to the mix with the natural gas causes complete combustion of the gas, changing the colour of the flame produced.
